Students at Safe Space Psychiatry

Safe Space Psychiatry is grateful and proud to introduce Masters and Doctoral level Nurse Practitioner students to the rewarding, and highly challenging, practice of providing care to folx with marginalized identities.  There are very few spots throughout the calendar year for students seeking preceptorship, and all students are asked to participate in a rigorous vetting process to ensure the safety of our clients.  Students are expected to have a basic understanding of, alignment with, and openness to expanding knowledge of dismantling systemic racism/addressing white supremacy in daily practices, using correct names and pronouns for all people in all settings, and considering the impact of a person's many intersectional identities in the context of providing mental health care as well as disrupting harmful symptoms and behaviors, among other practices which seek to promote the health and wellbeing of any person who interacts with Safe Space Psychiatry.
